Google India announced that it will stream all the IPL 2010 matches live via its famous video sharing website, Youtube.com.
Google will have an exclusive online rights for showing IPL content for 2 years. As per the contract, Google and Indian Premier League will be sharing the revenues generated from the ads and sponsors.
Mr. Shailesh Rao, a Sr. Manager at Google India told that they are thrilled to have Indian Premier League as their global partners. He also said that Youtube will offer an open platform for sports and entertainment companies to take their content to a global audience and would be a great opportunity for advertisers.
The most popular T20 even, IPL 2010 will feature top players in 8 teams, owned by business giants and bollywood personalities. IPL Season 3 will start from 12 March, the first match will be played in DY Patil Stadium Navi Mumbai and the IPL 2010 final match will be on April 25.
Lalit Modi, chairman of the IPL said that this is a complete unique initiative by IPL to partner Google India and will provide the premier league a global reach on single distribution platform
