IPL 2010 Opening Match in Mumbai

IPL 2010 is all surrounded by controversy, there were many discussions regarding the IPL teams snubbing the Pakistani Players, and now IPL commissioner has announce that IPL 2010 first match will be held in DY Patil Navi Mumbai and not Hyderabad due to the protests demanding a separate Telangana state continuing in Andhra Pradesh,

The match between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders will be playerd after the IPL 2010 opening ceremony at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

For a person who moved the entire 2nd season of IPL Cricket to South Africa — after indian government said it could not provide the security Modi sought, moving just one match to another city was small thing.

Mr. Lalit Modi seemed to have made up his decision after protesters disrupted a T20 tournament in Hyderabad on Thursday.

“People from all over the world are coming and we are going to make sure everything is in order,” said Modi. He said the IPL 2010 venues of the other matches would remain the same.

But the only concern is with Australian Players participating in both the competing teams, and the Shiv Sena having sought a boycott of Australian cricketers following the attacks on Indians in Australia, whether Mumbai will be as safe as Modi expects is a moot question.
