IPL 2010 to present awards for Season 3
As per the IPL 2010 schedule the league matches will start from 12th March and has some exciting cricket action in store for all. Also not to forget the off field entertainment; talking in a press conference Mr. Lalit Modi told that IPL will start its award ceremony from this year onwards. These awards will be based on IPL 2010 56 League matches and will be held on 23rd April, 2010.
Lalit Modi also announced that they have signed a contract with COLORS TV which will telecast the after match parties, events, fashion shows, connected with Indian Premier League. NDTV quoted Lalit Modi saying: “We will give every type of viewer something to watch. Fashion, Bollywood and Cricket will all be merged. Our partnership with Colors takes the IPL cricketainment quotient into an all new orbit.   I have always maintained that the IPL is a cricketing carnival like no other and with this unique partnership that we have entered on behalf of our franchisees; we are delivering on our promise to extend the IPL franchise beyond cricket, beyond the IPL season and quite frankly beyond imagination. The revenue of the tie-up will go to the franchisees.”
Rajesh Kamat, the CEO of COLORS TV expressed his excitement on the contract with IPL as he stated: “This partnership is about coming together of two of the biggest entertainment brands in their respective domains, IPL and Colors – brands that have changed the landscape of Cricket and entertainment respectively over the last 2 years.”
This announcement is like an “Icing on the Cake” as the franchise has already announced that they will be telecasting IPL 2010 matches on youtube and will also experiment with 3D in the last four matches of the season. The season is going to be a scorcher and everyone is eagerly waiting for its arrival.
